The District of Columbia Court of Appeals ruled in favor of an appeal filed by the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) challenging the DOE's recent actions to regulate decorative hearth products.

A recent report for the U.S. Energy Information Administration found that big is not as bad for the electrical grid as you might think — maybe even not bad at all, particularly when modern building technologies are at work.

Analysis from EIA's most recent "Residential Energy Consumption Survey" (RECS) shows that U.S. homes built since 2000 consume only 2% more energy on average than homes built prior to 2000, despite being on average 30% larger.

Philips unveiled the new bulb at the Home Depot store on 59th Street in Manhattan on Dec. 4 and 5, and at the 23rd Street store on Dec. 5 to 6, offering consumers a $5 savings. It will also be available at Homedepot.com/lightbulbs with rollout expected at the beginning of the year.
