The demand for paint and coatings in the United States is expected to rise 7.8% annually through 2015, according to a study by The Freedonia Group, a Cleveland-based market research firm. The market is expected to expand strongly in both volume and value terms, rebounding from the declines of the recession-impacted 2005 to 2010 period.

After falling 2.4% from 2005 to 2010, countertop demand will increase 4.8% from 2010 to 2015, according to the Cleveland-based research firm.

Demand for wall coverings is projected to advance 8.2% annually from a weak 2010 base to $2.2 billion in 2015. 

Those numbers are from a new study from The Freedonia Group, a Cleveland-based industry market research firm. The report, "Wall Coverings," calls for all the areas of wall coverings to show impressive growth through 2015.

Demand for wall coverings fell sharply in the wake of the economic recession and the collapse of the U.S. construction market, particularly residential construction, according to Freedonia.

The Cleveland-based market research firm forecasts that gains will be supported by the introduction of decorative and specialty home organization products, as well as by the strong growth in larger, more expensive closet and garage systems.

Demand for landscaping products in the United States is projected to increase 7.6% per year through 2015, according to a study just released by the Freedonia Group, a Cleveland-based market research firm.  Part of the rebound will be the result of a strong improvement from depressed sales following the 2007-to-2009 recession. Overall growth in landscaping products demand will also get a boost from the recovery in U.S.
