One of the trends emerging from the ENAP Forest Products Conference, held Oct. 21-23 in Baltimore, was the increased emphasis on supply.

“This year’s conference exceeded everyone’s expectations,” said Duncan Facey, VP forest products for the New Windsor, N.Y.-based LBM co-op. “Those in attendance heard the message loud and clear: Supply is a very real concern across our industry as we head in 2013.”

What does ENAP stand for? Either you know it or you don’t. The answer: “Everyone Needs A Profit.” And to Stephen Sallah, president of the New Windsor, N.Y.-based co-op, it’s anything but trivial. “As a co-op, you can’t lose money,” said Sallah, who joined ENAP as CFO in 2008 and rose to the CEO title in September. “Somehow at the end of the day, you have to be able to return something in the black back to the dealers.” ENAP has done that, he said.

ENAP, the New Windsor, N.Y.-based LBM co-op, has announced the opening of a sales office in Monroe, La. The new office is part of ENAP’s regional growth strategy as the organization continues to expand its membership base in the South and into the Southwest. ENAP has hired industry veteran Robert Carson as VP business development to direct staff and operations in the region.

Russell Kennedy retired as president and CEO of ENAP, the New Windsor, N.Y.-based lumber and building material co-operative.

On an interim basis, CFO Steve Sallah will be acting chief operating officer.

Kennedy led the co-op -- the name is an acronym for "Everybody Needs a Profit" -- for the past five years. In a prepared statement, he pointed to his appreciation to and confidence in the current ENAP team.
