Available in either Automatic-ON (Occupancy) or Manual-ON (Vacancy) switching, these energy-saving sensors are available in models engineered to control current LED, CFL, fluorescent, incandescent, halogen or motor loads.

Melville, N.Y.-based Leviton, manufacturer of electrical devices, promoted Marvin Hagemeier to the position of director of commercial and industrial sales for the Western Region.

Hagemeier joined Leviton in 1985 as an electrical distribution sales representative in East and Central Texas, and was promoted to Electrical Distribution Sales Manager for the Dallas District in 1992. In 2010 he assumed the role of South Central Regional Sales Manager.

Hagemeier will succeed Izzy Oleinik, who after a career of 23 years with Leviton, retired on January 1, 2012.

The new leviton.com offers step-by-step installation videos, tips and interactive discussion forums, including installation procedures and best uses for various Leviton products.

Melville, N.Y.-based Leviton Manufacturing has acquired Obvius, a provider of solutions to collect energy information.

According to Leviton, the Obvius acquisition allows the company to offer the most complete line of lighting and energy management solutions. A complementary strategic addition to Leviton’s current line, Leviton now offers solutions to meet all measurement and verification-based opportunities, such as smart metering, energy data information, load management and LEED rating achievement.

Two lighting and electrical manufacturers have announced that they are ready to roll out residential charging stations for electric cars. Leviton, based in Melville, N.Y., is producing the Evr-Green 160 Level 2 Home Charging Station, which has received the Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) Listing for Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) in the United States and Canada.
