Epicor Software Corp., a provider of business software solutions, has announced the appointment of two industry veterans to lead its lumber and building materials (LBM) segment.

Cary Anderson, currently director of the Epicor lumber software development team, will manage LBM operations, which include product development, professional services and support. Bob Chamberlain, formerly of Hope Lumber & Supply, will run the Epicor LBM sales organization.

Epicor Software Corp., a provider of business enterprise solutions, has named Pervez Qureshi as its CEO, effective immediately. Qureshi served as CEO and president of Activant Solutions Inc., which was combined with Epicor following the acquisition of both companies by funds advised by Apax Partners. The deal closed on May 16, 2011.

Apax Partners completed the previously announced acquisitions of Epicor Software Corp. and Activant Solutions Inc. 

Apax intends to combine Activant with Epicor to create one of the largest global providers of enterprise applications focused on the manufacturing, distribution, retail and services sectors. The combined company is now called Epicor Software Corp. The new Epicor has more than 33,000 customers in over 150 countries and more than $800 million in annual revenues.

Livermore, Calif.-based Activant is expected to merge with Epicor Sofware Corp. as part of a deal in which Apax Parnters acquires both of the software solutions providers. 

Following completion of the merger, the combined company will be called Epicor Software Corp.

Apax Partners is private equity firm with a specialty in technology investment, according to a press release announcing the acquisition. 

According to Pervez Qureshi, Activant president and CEO, the new entity can now cover the full spectrum of retailing.
