A new line of saw blades from German manufacturer Guhdo is armed with “electrostatically applied coating” and a “proprietary grinding process,” the company said.

The company said its electrostatically applied coating is thinner, stronger and more uniform over the body of the blade. The Gmaxx coating and grinding processes provide longer blade life and superior blade performance, according to Guhdo, and are designed for use on table saws, radial arm saws and chop / miter saws.

Trex Company has entered into a licensing agreement with Freud America to introduce the first saw blade specifically designed for cutting composite decking materials.  Diablo, Freud’s premier brand of construction tools, will be introducing the new blade series for maximum performance and highest quality of finish when cutting composite decking materials.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Irwin Industrial Tool Co., has issued a voluntary recall of a promotional 10-inch circular saw blade 3-pack due to laceration hazard posed by defection packaging. 

Irwin has received three reports of the saw blades falling out of the bottom of the packaging. No injuries were reported.

The products, manufactured in China, were sold exclusively at Lowe’s stores nationwide from approximately October 2011 through November 2011 for $40. Approximately 55,260 were purchased.
