Floor and Decor Outlets of America has opened another unit, this time in the Chicago market, according to an article in the Chicago Daily Herald.

The 90,000-sq.-ft. warehouse store in Lombard, a suburb of Chicago, opened Nov. 3 and carries hard-surface flooring such as ceramic tile, hardwood, bamboo, stone and laminate.

According to an article in the Chicago Daily Herald, a Mundelein, Ill., Menards has been given the green light to expand its garden center.

The Mundelein village board approved the plan, which calls for a 63,745-sq.-ft. garden center on the east side of the store, replacing a 14,300-sq.-ft. garden center on the west side. The move, expected to be finished in 2012, would sacrific about 200 parking spaces, according to the article.

According to an article in the Chicago Daily Herald, Geneva Hardware store closed earlier this month.

The Do it Best dealer had a sign at its entrance: "We regret to inform you that our store is closed," the paper reported.

Geneva Hardware moved to its current spot into what was a former Dominick's grocery store in February of this year. It had been in business in a different location in downtown Geneva for more than 80 years.
