Lowe’s has hired Kevin Summers as its new chief information officer, effective July 9. He will replace Michael Brown, who announced last April that he had accepted the company’s Voluntary Separation Program and decided to retire after almost 28 years with Lowe’s.

Mark Ayers, the 63-year-old president of the building and construction trades department of the AFL/CIO, died unexpectedly on April 8, according to an announcement issued by the organization.  No details were released on the cause or circumstances of his death. Ayers served as president since 2007.

ProBuild Holdings has named Don Riley, the former CIO of Mohawk, as its new executive VP supply chain and technology. In this role, Riley will be responsible for integrating ProBuild’s supply chain, information technology and manufacturing organizations, including developing strategies and programs to improve the company’s overall operational effectiveness, grow market share and maximize profitability.
