Dallas-based building materials manufacturer and distributor Eagle Materials reported big sales and earnings gains for the fiscal year ended March 31.

The maker and distributor of cement, gypsum wallboard and other materials reported full year revenues of $642.6 million, an increase of 30%. Net earnings for the year were $57.7 million, up from $18.7 million a year ago.

The company joins Lyman Lumber Co., a US LBM division that is one of the largest building material suppliers in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Scranton, Pa.-based AZEK Building Products signed a distribution deal with OrePac Building Products, a building materials wholesaler serving the West and Pacific Northwest.   

Under the agreement, OrePac’s Denver, Colo., and Salt Lake City, Utah, branches will offer the full line of premium, exterior AZEK products.  OrePac’s Denver branch covers Colorado, Eastern Wyoming, Northern New Mexico and the Scottsbluff area of Nebraska, while the Salt Lake City branch covers Utah, Southwestern Wyoming, Eastern Nevada and Southeastern Idaho.

Weyerhaeuser Distribution has added the full line of WindsorOne trim and molding products to its offerings in California, where it will be the exclusive distributor of manufacturer’s products.

Weyerhaeuser is stocking and shipping the WindsorOne line from its distribution centers in Stockton, Fresno, Santa Clarita and Fontana.

This summer, Weyerhaeuser also announced it is distributing WindsorOne building materials in Texas.

In an Oct. 15 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Boise Cascade Holdings posted an estimate of the results for its third fiscal quarter, which ended Sept. 30, 2012.

Segment sales in the building materials distribution division were between $595 million and $615 million, with wood products accounting for another $255 million to $265 million. Net income was reported at $21.5 million to $25.1 million.

Monroe, La.-based LBM buying group Allied Building Stores appointed Dale E. Mercer, 50, as president, effective Jan. 1, 2013.

Mercer will succeed David Stiles, a 16-year veteran of Allied, who will continue to serve as president until the end of the year. Mercer joined ABS, a dealer-owned building materials buying group in October 2008, and most recently has served as its chief operating officer. Prior to joining ABS, Mercer was VP manufacturing for Bancroft Bag at its facility in West Monroe.
