Buffalo, N.Y.-based Osmose Holdings, a manufacturer of wood preservation technology, will be acquired by investment funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, of Los Angeles. 

Osmose’s existing management team will remain in place, including James Spengler, president and CEO of Osmose.

According to an article in BuffaloRising.com, a small-format Ace Hardware store is slated to open close to downtown Buffalo in a building next to a paint store. 

Owner Paul Leahey, president of Schuele Paint Co. in Buffalo, described the 3,000 square-foot store set to open by Memorial Day as a “first class hardware store.”

Two-unit, Buffalo, N.Y.-based lumber dealer Len-Co Lumber Corp. paid $2.95 million for a 60,000-sq.-ft. property in the Town of Tonawanda, N.Y., according to an article in the Buffalo News.

Len-Co's new location, its third, is a former Premier Wines flagship store. Len-Co operates stores in Buffalo and Williamsville, N.Y.

Buffalo Business First has reported that Saint-Gobain Adfors earlier this month began making in New York drywall tape that it used to make in China.

The Albion, N.Y., facility is Saint-Gobain's North American headquarters. The newspaper reported that the cause of the shift in location was a need to better control aesthetics and packaging, which are important purchase factors in the Japanese market, the destination of the products.
