The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Delta Electronics (Dongguan) Co., of China, is recalling approximately 68,000 bathroom exhaust fans. Sold exclusively at Lowe’s under the Harbor Breeze Bath Fans with Heater and Light, the fan’s heater blades can fail to rotate properly, causing the product to overheat and posing a fire hazard.

Lowe's has announced that it will partner with the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) in order to launch a program to educate and train Lowe's employees who specialize in interior kitchen and bath projects.

Because of this membership and training program, Lowe's employees who work in the kitchen cabinets, countertops and fashion plumbing departments and as interior project specialists will have the opportunity to earn NKBA certifications.

Results from the third-quarter survey from the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) indicated a 42% rise in showroom traffic and a 36% increase in kitchen remodel sales volumes from one year ago, as well as a significant increase -- 85% -- in bathroom sales over the third quarter of 2010.  Overall, kitchen and bath remodeling revenues reported by NKBA dealer members rose 69% in year-over-year figures.

Masco Bath, a producer of showers, bathtubs and whirlpools, was given the  “Unsung Hero” award at the Lowe's Fashion Plumbing vendor forum. Masco was honored for the research, design and execution of new merchandising concepts for the bathing aisle and accessible home special order areas. These merchandising concepts have been included in the Lowe's "store of the future" layout, according to the announcement.

The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) is expecting to draw some 40,000 attendees to Las Vegas April 26 to 28.

The 48th annual event from the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) will feature a broader array of offerings, the latest in trends and technology, and more opportunities to collaborate with peers and exhibitors, according to the NKBA.
