Hurd Windows and Doors was featured on ABC World News with Diane Sawyer in a Sept. 20 feature that highlighted U.S.-based businesses that are making a domestic and global economic impact. The 90-year-old custom window and door manufacturer was recognized for competing on a worldwide basis out of its Midwestern manufacturing facilities in Medford and Merrill, Wisconsin.

Roofing distributor ABC Supply will open a new store in Carnegie, Pa., on Aug. 1. The 42,000-sq.-ft. facility will contain a warehouse and showroom space in two buildings. Designed to serve residential and commercial construction professionals, the new store will carry a complete assortment of low-slope and steep-slope roofing materials, siding, windows, doors, gutter, decking and related tools and equipment. 

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two men suspected of stealing six Husqvarna chain saws at a Lowe’s store in Springfield, Mass., according to a report on WGGB-TV, an ABC affiliate.

On May 21, the individuals allegedly placed the items, valued at $766 each, in a store cart and wheeled it out the front door. 

Building products distributor ABC Supply has promoted David Johnson to the position of director national accounts. In his new role, Johnson will lead the team that works with large national customers, partners and suppliers to provide the products and services these customers need. He has been part of the company’s national accounts department since 2008, serving as an account executive focused on storm contractors. 

ABC Supply, the nation’s largest distributor of roofing, has promoted Mike Boggs to director of operations, a newly created position. In his new role, Boggs is responsible for championing, developing and implementing critical operational initiatives, including continued improvement of the company’s Customer Service Delivery System (CSDS), inventory management, fleet optimization, outside sales management, response to storms, and the leveraging of technology to enhance internal service quality and customer service. 

Wayne, N.J.-based GAF, the largest roofing manufacturer in North America, will contribute all roofing materials in this week’s episode of the ABC television show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition."

ABC Supply, the industry’s largest distributor of roofing, siding and other exterior products, has announced that eight former Bradco associates have joined ABC Supply’s Southeast region team.

ABC Supply acquired Bradco Supply in June 2010. ABC’s Southeast division includes nearly 100 stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

ABC Supply, the industry’s largest distributor of roofing and exterior building products, has announced that two of its VPs will be given new roles in order to maximize its 2010 acquisition of Bradco Supply Co.

ABC Supply has announced that it will rename six of its Bradco Supply units in the Midwest as ABC Supply locations as of Jan. 3, 2011. The stores are in Wauconda and Alsip, Ill.; Warren, Mich.; Hazelwood, Mo.; Omaha, Neb.; and Indianapolis, Ind. 

In a blockbuster deal announced today, Avenel, N.J.-based Bradco Supply signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by ABC Supply.

The transaction will create a national distributor of exterior building materials with 479 locations in 45 states and the District of Columbia. Combined sales of the new entity will be about $4 billion.
