San Jose, Calif.-based Orchard Supply Hardware Stores Corp. plans to open a new Orchard Supply Hardware store in Fresno, Calif. on April 14th.

The store will be Orchard’s 88th, and the fourth store in Fresno. Grand Opening events include a ribbon-cutting ceremony beginning at 7 a.m., as well as day-long vendor demos, spin and win, kid’s activities and door prizes, including a patio set and a Weber Summit Grill.

“Orchard is delighted to be expanding our presence in the Central Valley,” said Mark Baker, president and CEO of Orchard Supply Hardware. “We know that our new store layout and look will be appealing to our customers, along with the stock that we have selected to match the home and garden needs of the neighborhood.”

The new 50,000-sq.-ft. store includes a 7,700-sq.-ft. nursery and garden center located adjacent to the parking lot for easy access, convenience and quick in-and-out service. The interior space features a newly designed store format that boasts an engaging shopping environment, easy-to-navigate layout and Orchard’s new signature customer service center called ‘Workbench.’

Mike Ellis, a Clovis resident who has been with Orchard since 1979, will manage the store. Ellis has experience managing Orchard stores in Merced, Kings Canyon, Blackstone, Fresno and Visalia.
