Banks Lumber will close its two Elkhart, Ind., locations following the company’s acquisition last year by Universal Forest Products (UFP).

According to an article in the South Bend (Indiana) Tribune, UFP will consolidate the two Elkhart locations into one location at White Pigeon, Mich. Banks had been in business for 80 years in the city, according to the newspaper.

Banks Lumber had 2005 sales of approximately $147 million. The company was purchased by UFP in 2006 for $47 million.

Banks manufactures and distributes roof trusses, dimensional lumber and engineered wood products primarily to the manufactured housing market.
